Everybody knows that dogs are the best buddies ever. What’s more is that there are also tons of great benefits to having a canine companion, too.
Dogs are incredibly good for both your physical and mental health. Plus, you can always count on them to be there for you whenever you need their support.
There are also lots of fantastic activities you can do with your favorite pup as well. Here are a few of our favorites other than just going for walks or playing ball.
1. Take up “doga.”
You may be wondering, “what the heck is doga?” Why, it’s yoga – with your dog – and yes, it’s a real thing. Plus, it’s also quite relaxing.
2. Work on getting a Canine Good Citizen certificate.
Do you have a super sweet pup that you wish could bring joy to even more folks? All it takes is a little bit of training to help your canine companion become a certified therapy dog.
3. Put on those dancing shoes.
Yes, dancing with your dog is a totally legitimate pastime. In fact, you can even do it competitively thanks to the World Canine Freestyle Organization. So, maybe it’s time you and Fido started working on a snazzy dance routine, eh?
4. Swing by Starbucks for a “puppuccino.”
There’s a secret menu item at Starbucks that’s just for dogs. It’s called the puppuccino, and it’s basically a small cup of whipped cream. For you, order whatever you fancy; for your furry friend, you now know exactly what to ask for.
Unless your dog has a dairy intolerance, this is a great, fun way to end a day out.
5. Become part of an online community.
If you’d prefer not to leave the house or partake in strenuous activity, you can always go online. There are tons of communities on social media dedicated to dogs and dog lovers where you can make new friends.
Love taking cute pictures of your favorite pup? You’re in luck. Some folks even go so far as to start web pages or Instagram profiles just for their dogs. Heck, your dog could be the next online sensation!
